I've been doing ashtanga yoga throughout my TTC jouney and I KNOW it's done me the world of good. I feel energized, more supple and things seem to work better. However in the back of my mind I had this nagging feeling about whether all this movement and internal organ compression was good while trying to get pregnant. More specifically while in the TWW. During my last TWW after an IUI, I was at yoga and a girlfriend of mine (who has also been through her own TTC hell) asked me if I should be doing this. It was the first time I really considered it. I always thought that it was good to be active during pregnancy and that sport wouldn't stop me from getting pg.
So I decided to do my own research. And lo behold, there are some forms of yoga (and other exercise) that you shouldn't do while pregnant or in the TWW. And one of them is ashtanga. Oops. Apparently all the jumping can dislodge the fertilized egg from the uterus wall. And all the internal organ compression is not good for implantation or maintaining a pregnancy. Yoga is very good for pregnancy but certain positions are not. So I have decided to keep going to yoga classes but not do any of the positions that involve jumping, organ compression or stomach work. I will be very careful and take it nice and easy. I stopped yoga for 10 days already but I really feel like I want to get back into it now. Exercise is good, right? I'll just have to take the power out of the power yoga! At least until I know one way or another...

This is more like it.
*** I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who stopped by from LFCA. I had no idea that Mel had put me up there. I am so glad she did, as having you stop by and comment is making this TWW easier. If you don't know what LFCA is, go and check it out here. Thanks Mel, you rock!***
